Measurement and device data

Ntense processes force measurements received from a Ntense device over Bluetooth. Saved sessions may include measurement samples, dates, durations, statistics, tags and device information. The app also stores preferences and remembered device identifiers and names locally on your device to provide measurements, history and reconnection functionality.

Ntense does not operate a developer-hosted measurement database or require an app account. The app does not send your measurement history to the developer automatically. No advertising or analytics SDK is integrated.

Bluetooth and permissions

Bluetooth access is used to discover and communicate with your N1 dynamometer. On iOS, the app requests Bluetooth permission. On Android 12 and later, it requests Nearby devices permissions for Bluetooth scanning and connection. On Android 11 and earlier, Bluetooth discovery may require location permission and enabled system location services. Ntense does not determine, store or track your geographic location, or use Bluetooth scan results to infer it.

You can revoke these permissions in your device’s system settings. Hardware-dependent features will then be unavailable; saved or imported sessions can still be reviewed without a Bluetooth connection.

File import and export

Import reads the JSON file you select through the system file picker. Export writes session data to the destination you choose. These actions are initiated by you; Ntense does not automatically upload your sessions to a developer-operated service. If you choose a cloud file provider such as iCloud Drive or Google Drive, that provider processes the file under its own terms and privacy policy. Exported files contain the selected session data and should only be shared with intended recipients.

Firmware update checks and downloads

After connecting to a supported device, Ntense automatically checks public GitHub releases for compatible firmware. Successful checks are cached locally for six hours; a manual check can request fresh information. Firmware downloads and installation start only after your confirmation.

These requests connect to GitHub and its download servers, which receive your IP address, the requested resource and the Ntense-Firmware-Updater user-agent. The app does not include measurement history, saved sessions, device names or Bluetooth identifiers in these requests, and does not send account credentials. Firmware compatibility is evaluated locally. See GitHub’s privacy statement for GitHub’s handling of connection data.

Fonts and external links

Fonts are included in the app and are not downloaded from Google or another font service. Opening the privacy policy launches your browser and connects to this GitHub Pages website.

Retention and deletion on your device

Saved sessions remain until you delete them in History or remove the app and its data. Remembered devices can be removed using the app’s device controls. On Android, you can also clear the app’s storage in system settings to remove its local data. Uninstalling the app and deleting its data removes the local app copy; offloading or archiving an app may retain its data. Depending on your device and backup settings, the operating system may include app data in cloud backups or device-to-device transfers and restore it after reinstallation. These system features are managed by your operating system or backup provider, not by the developer. Manage retained backups through that provider’s settings. Exported files remain wherever you saved or shared them and must be deleted separately. The developer cannot remotely access or delete data stored only on your device.

Support email

If you email support, your email address, message and any attachments are processed to answer your request. Support uses Gmail, so Google also processes these communications under its privacy terms. Support correspondence is deleted within six months after the request is resolved, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention. You can request earlier deletion by email, subject to applicable legal obligations.

This website

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no analytics scripts, advertising, external fonts or developer-set cookies. GitHub processes connection information, including IP addresses, to serve and secure the site. See GitHub’s privacy statement. Following an external link or sending email is subject to the destination service’s privacy practices.

Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data and to receive a portable copy. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact the email address above to exercise rights concerning data held by the developer. Local-only measurements are managed directly in the app and through its export function.

Changes

This policy will be updated when relevant app functionality or data handling changes. The date above identifies the latest revision.
